ANIMISTIC APOSTLES OF THE ENCHANTED SEA
All kids are little born animists. As toddlers, they start finding and assembling pebbled, shells and leaves and later, move on to butterflies and feathers, raising stick insects as their first domestic pets. They put the findings in labeled match boxes and jam jars and create their own museum displays. This intriguing urge for discovering and collecting forms the basis for what later connects to the spiritual movement of animism, developing respect for everything that is alive. All matter, even hard and human-made, is thought to have a soul and the right to exist.
This ancient belief system is making a come-back since people want to consider other ways to handle and harvest, with much more respect for the soil and each living organism. Prompting a shift towards vegan foods and local garden beverages. The current interest families have, for being emerged in nature brings about creative ideas that are like the installations of Land Art.
These living artworks teach little people to become respectful adults, sharing in the governance of the planet. Fashion takes this current to heart with summer clothes that use wood and flowers to embellish textiles that are washed and casual to begin with. Dyeing processes give patterns a lifelike appearance and colors are taken from their beautiful and intriguing natural finds.
